NEWS: Man of Steel and Captain America 2

What a great way to start off Superhero Season than with news from two of the biggest Superhero films currently in production!

First off is Man of Steel. Warner Bros have started trickling out what is no doubt going to be a mammoth marketing campaign. Today they’ve revealed an updated synopsis:

“A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind”

Not too much different from previous Superman films but judging from the brand new TV spot, Zach Snyder is taking Superman up a notch:

Due out in June, the official running time of the film is 148mins long, plenty of time to see the Man of Steel at work!

It’s not just DC that are revealing new things from their upcoming films, Marvel are keeping up with news. With Iron Man 3 due out in a couple of weeks, and Thor: The Dark World in post-production, it’s time to move onto Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier.

It’s been revealed that Winter Soldier is going to pick up from where The Avengers left off, with Steve Rogers struggling to come to terms with modern life. He teams up with Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) to dight off a strong enemy in Washington DC.

Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson return as their established characters, while Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Redford and Hayley Atwell – the lovely Peggy whose relationship with Rogers was never meant to be – all joining the cast.

Looks like Rogers is still in the firm grips of S.H.I.E.L.D!

Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier will be out in cinemas April 2014.
