On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me; twelve singing Muppets, eleven happy Who’s, ten types of candy, nine Christmas wishes, eight nightmare dogs, seven dancing snowmen, six Christmas parties, five holidays! Four homemade traps, three skellington reindeer, two bad-mouthed con men and a Gremlin who is a cutie!
That’s it, we’ve made it to the end of the list just in time for Christmas tomorrow! So, did you guess what the final film will be? My last and most festive film of all is A Muppet Christmas Carol! (It also happens to be my favourite!) Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is one of the most memorable and traditional Christmas tales, and adding the Muppets to the mix makes it even better.
Everyone knows the tale of Ebeneezer Scrooge, the mean-hearted business owner who barely acknowledges the existence of Christmas. On Christmas Eve he is visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future that make him see the errors of his ways – just in time for Christmas!
Michael Caine. The Muppets. Musicals. Charles Dickens. It wouldn’t be Christmas without these things! Nothing quite gets me in the Christmas spirit like bouncing along to the songs, laughing at Rizzo the Rat and finding that Ebeneezer Scrooge does have a heart after all! And Christmas doesn’t officially start until this film has been shown on tele. This year it was shown way back in November but not to worry, it’s being shown on Christmas Day too.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
